Summer Motorcycle Maintenance Checklist for Beginners
1. Tires
Checking your motorcycle tires should be maintenance you continuously do, and it is one of the easiest things to check as well! The most important thing is to make sure the tread is not worn down. Especially if you have been riding your motorcycle throughout the winter, you will want to ensure your tires are in prime condition for the summer months.
2. Oil & Fuel Levels
At the beginning of the summer season, you may not need to top off these liquids but you would rather check them now and stay on top of your motorcycle’s maintenance than be caught low while out on a ride!
3. Motorcycle Frame
You will want to include the motorcycle frame in your summer maintenance check too. Here you can take a look at the suspension, steering, and cylinder walls. You can add a little oil to the spark plugs to increase lubrication in the cylinder walls. The motorcycle frame check may be tedious but it’s worth the extra time!
4. Electronics
Of course, in your summer maintenance check, you need to make sure your electronics and lights are all working to ensure safety on the roads! This includes your brake lights, headlights, and turn signals.
