Position

Youngs Insurance Brokers Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and manage technology projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects while ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to achieve project goals and drive continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
  • Team Leadership: Lead project teams, providing direction, support, and motivation to ensure project success.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address challenges.
  • Network Safety: Ensure that network safety and security are prioritized in all project phases, adhering to best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage project resources, ensuring the right skills and personnel are in place to meet project objectives.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress and performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders through status reports and presentations.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and align with organizational objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices in project management.
  • New Users: Set up new employees and their office hardware, ensuring that all equipment, software, and systems are operational upon their arrival.
  • Maintenance: Be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of IT systems to ensure continuous, optimal performance.
  • Oversee: The network technician with daily incoming support tickets and assist when needed.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7 years of project management experience in IT, including successful delivery of specific projects.

Licence/Certification

  • PMP/CAPM or equivalent certification preferred.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Strong knowledge of the Microsoft environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to various audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving results.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
