On February 11, 2021, we're participating in our annual Valentine's Day Blood Drive for Canadian Blood Services. We want you to participate with us and show your love by donating blood!
Interested in saving a life this Valentine's Day?
Did you know that it takes many donors to help save a hospital patient? For example:
- up to 50 donors to help save just 1 person seriously hurt in a car crash,
- up to 5 donors to save someone who needs cardiovascular surgery, and
- up to 8 donors a week to help someone going through treatment for leukemia.
Give Life, by donating blood.
Half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who will need blood at some point in their lives. Yet only four percent of Canadians donate. Our job is to change that. At Canadian Blood Services, we’re responsible for recruiting and collecting blood, plasma, and platelets at 36 permanent collection sites and more than 14,000 donor clinics every year.
Becoming a donor
Join us and donate blood today! Canadian Blood Services provides a few simple steps to get the process started:
STEP 1 | Find out if you’re eligible to donate.
STEP 2 | Find a clinic near you.
STEP 3 | Book an appointment. Booking in advance helps our clinic run smoothly and also helps us ensure your first donation experience is a good one.
STEP 4 | Get familiar with our process so you know what to expect when you arrive.
