How COVID-19 is Affecting Friday the 13th
Bikers Are Discouraged from Attending
As COVID-19 numbers continue to rise across the province, there's a very clear message from Norfolk County regarding motorcycle riders who love going to Port Dover every Friday the 13th. Mayor Kristal Chopp says council voted unanimously to enact measures designed to discourage bikers. This includes a media messaging campaign in several municipalities as well as a denial of all vendor permits.
What You Can Do Instead
Trust us, we always look forward to our trips to Port Dover but we have some other ideas you might want to do instead:
- Consider watching a movie about motorcycles or reading a book. Check out a great list we compiled for you here.
- Just because you can't go to Port Dover, doesn't mean you can't get on your motorcycle and go for a ride!
- Go for a walk, run or lift some weights to burn off the disappointment! This is a great way to keep in shape for riding season.
- The snow is coming so you can refresh yourself on how to ride in the winter.
Brighter Days Ahead...
If everyone take the necessary precautions now, hopefully we can all enjoy the next Friday the 13th which will be on Friday, August 13, 2021.
We know staying home is a drag but we're in this together. Stay home and stay safe! Hopefully we'll see everyone in Port Dover next year!
