How To Remove Frost When It’s Inside Your Vehicle, Youngs Insurance, Ontario

Frost forms on the inside of your car when the temperature drops below freezing and moist air is present.  This can be from exhaling passengers or melting snow evaporating.

Ways To Prevent & Remove Frost Inside Your Vehicle

Warm Cloth

Using a dry warm cloth will help wipe away much of the frost. Be sure to apply light pressure so you don't risk cracking the glass. Also, make sure the cloth is dry because a wet cloth can make the problem worse.

Warming-up The Car

Turn your car on prior to driving and turn the heat up all the way. This should help melt the frost on the inside of your vehicle. Once the frost is melted, any excess moisture can be wiped away with a dry cloth or paper towel.

Shoe Box Gel Packets

Do you know those little silica gel packs that come with your new shoes? Believe it or not, they can be extremely handy when it comes to preventing frost from forming on the inside of your vehicle. These packets will absorb the moisture inside your car, just place a few on the dash or around the car; be sure children and pets do not get a hold of them because they are toxic!

We hope these tips will help you avoid any morning struggles when trying to use your fingers to clean the inside of your windshield.
