We LOVE pets and we know that there is nothing better than having your furry friend join you for a ride in your car! Driving with your pet is the best when you follow these safety tips
Many of us don’t realize the issues involved with driving with your pet in the car, so we’ve listed three simple rules to help you get you prepared for a summer road trip with your four-legged friend.
1 | Make sure everyone has their place in the car
You are five minutes down the road and your pet starts begging to sit on your lap. What do you do? You should leave them secured in their car seat, crate, secured bag, etc.
When it comes to safety, there is nothing more distracting and unsafe than driving with your pet on your lap. It’s important that you keep your pet safely secured throughout the duration of your driving.
2 | Maintain the temperature in the car
If you are going on a summer road trip, make sure you find a comfortable temperature to keep your car at. It’s very easy for pets to overheat in the summer but maintaining a good temperature in the car will help avoid this.3 | Don’t leave home without the accessories you need
To avoid unnecessary driving in an area you are unfamiliar with, make sure you don’t leave the house without the accessories your pet needs while on the road. Some of the items that should be on your checklist are; leash, collar, water, water bowl, food, towel, etc.
