Humble Beginnings & A Rich History
Our unique and rich history began on May 10, 1910, when Robert Carl Young launched his first business venture – R.C. Young Insurance in Niagara Falls. At the beginning, Robert Carl Young conducted his business, delivered policies and made sales calls by bicycle... “It all started on a bike!”
In 1936, Robert’s son Carl joined the firm, commencing an unparalleled period of growth, resulting in us seeking more space and additional personnel in order to sustain the considerable expansion. In 1954, we celebrated our 50th Anniversary and Robert Carl Young’s retirement.
In 1960, Carl provided an opportunity for devoted employees of the company to own and evolve it. Unfortunately, the new owner adopted broad scale expansion that diminished the company’s resources. However, due to a resourceful Sales Associate, Sandy Valleriani, and his ambitious visions the Youngs Insurance brand prevailed and to this day continues to be one of the leading independently owned brokerages in Ontario.
